‘The Walking Dead’ season 6, episode 10 ratings: Jesus’ arrival brings tiny decline

Anytime that you are getting to the second episode of any batch of “Walking Dead” episodes (it really doesn’t matter if you are talking about the fall or the spring), there is one thing that you can expect for the most part: Some sort of decline. It’s just so hard to match the enthusiasm out there for a premiere, since you’re coming off of a long layoff and some people inevitably are going to fall behind thanks to life getting in the way of their TV viewing habits.

For the most part, we feel like AMC has to celebrate the numbers that are in for the second episode of season 6B, which featured the arrival of the Jesus character and also Rick and Michonne hooking up romantically for the first time. The show generated a 6.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic, down just two tenths of a point from the midseason premiere; also, it is actually an improvement from the 6.2 that the equivalent season 5 episode drew, marking one of the few times this season there has been a year-to-year increase.

For the record, we looked back at the February 15, 2015 episode (the second to air in season 5B) in case there was some significant factor in the low rating the show drew … and there was. This was also the date of the “Saturday Night Live” 40th anniversary special, so maybe you have to put an asterisk beside its 6.2. Either way, a win is still a win, and above all else AMC must just be thrilled that they continue to be showing so much consistent dominance.

The next new episode is coming up on Sunday, and there is clearly going to be a lot that needs to be addressed. If you want to read up on it, we suggest that you head over to the link here right now!
