‘Better Call Saul’ season 2, episode 3 preview: Mike’s struggles, Jimmy’s victories in ‘Amarillo’
On Monday night’s new episode of “Better Call Saul,” we certainly saw a wide array of different highlights and hijinks. Jimmy McGill fabricated evidence in order to get Daniel off the hook, but not before creating the idea of a “squat cobbler” and then also getting chastised by Kim for falsifying evidence. This is not longer a man showing any willingness to play by the rules, and while that sounds all sorts of incredible for us, it’s not great for his career prospects.
On the next new episode, Jimmy could decide to create a new commercial for Davis & Main that shows off precisely what it is that he is good at: Not playing by the rules. However, at the same time his dealings could lead to him struggling on the job, and the TV Guide synopsis below suggests that there is trouble coming for Mike, as well:
“Jimmy’s client outreach efforts thrive as he exhibits new heights of showmanship. Meanwhile, Mike is perplexed by daughter-in-law Stacey’s troubling news.”
Through this episode, hopefully we’ll get a little more fun! We know from Mike we’ll get some incredible acting from Jonathan Banks and some powerful serious moments, largely because that is the sort of thing that we tend to get form him the vast majority of the time and it’s always great. We have no reason to doubt this will be more of the same.
Two episodes into this season, we definitely see progress. We just have to wait now to see if this brings him close to Saul Goodman this season or not.
