‘Billions’ episode 6 preview: Can Wendy strike a deal between Chuck, Axe?

At some point during the first season of “Billions” on Showtime, you had to know that this was coming: The meeting between Chuck Rhoades and Bobby Axelrod in the same room. Could this be coming on next week’s new episode? It’s something that we at least have to think of as a possibility, based on the first preview that we’ve had a chance to see via Showtime.

In this promo, you can see the two parties really starting to square off in a battle of wits quite like we have never seen before … and that’s before they even meet. Much of this could be orchestrated in part by Chuck’s wife Wendy, given that she is someone who stands to lose quite a bit in the event that things start to go south. She wants to protect her job, but at the same time doesn’t want her marriage to go south. The deeper Chuck goes into the investigation, the more danger that Axe Capital is of falling apart entirely.

Showtime released the following synopsis recently for this episode, not that it really gives much away:

“Wendy facilitates a deal that hinges on a meeting between Chuck and Axe.”

What’s going to happen by the time we get to the end of this story? That’s an interesting question, since we do still technically have a lot of time to go this season. Therefore, we have to figure that not everything in this meeting is going to go that well. Stay tuned for more scoop.
