‘The Good Wife’ season 7: Carrie Preston open to Elsbeth spin-off show
Even though “The Good Wife” still has several more episodes to air on CBS, now is the time for people to start thinking about the future … and whether or not that could include a spin-off.
One of the names that has been mentioned by us and some other people over the past few weeks as a possible lead is Elsbeth Tascioni, given that she has always been an eccentric, quirky addition anytime she shows up. She’s separated enough from the main cast that she could go elsewhere and stand on her own two feet, and she’s probably interesting enough to recruit some new viewers who haven’t seen the flagship show before.
For the record, the actress behind the character in Carrie Preston is making it clear she is up for it. Just take a look at what she had to say as a part of a new interview with TV Guide:
“I love the role and it’s been one of the greatest gifts I’ve had in my career. Every time they ask me back, it’s like a little gift and I get something new … I’m so excited I got to do one more before the end.”
Preston was only able to do a single episode this season because of her role on NBC’s “Crowded,” but who knows? Depending on what happens on that show and if “Good Wife” creators Robert and Michelle King determine that there is more story to tell with Elsbeth, we could see her have another chance to appear in this universe … or at least we hope.
