‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9, episode 17 preview: Adam West, Sara Gilbert, and the 200th episode

For longtime fans of “The Big Bang Theory,” you’re not going to have to wait too much longer to see one of the biggest celebrations in the show’s history: The 200th episode is almost here! This is going to be an opportunity to see one of the biggest celebrations that these characters have put on. It’s clearly a party for us, but they are also coming up with some ways to have it be a bit meta and a party for Sheldon, as well. It’s his birthday!

Obviously, the real icing on the top of the metaphorical cake is that Sheldon is going to get a chance to meet none other than Adam West. The legendary former star of “Batman” is going to be one of the big guest stars in this episode.

Who’s joining him? You’ll see some familiar faces like Wil Wheaton and Kevin Sussman, and to go along with that the first appearance by Sara Gilbert in many years. At one point, she was actually a regular during the early days of this show when her character of Leslie was actually dating Leonard. Those were funny, interesting days for the show when it was still finding itself and its identity.

Do we think that there will be any significant story developments in here, as well? We’re not sure, but we are curious if we will get to see the subject of Sheldon’s engagement ring broached once more. After all, Amy knows about the ring!
