‘American Idol 15’ video: Dalton Rapattoni, Shelbie Z. work with Chris Daughtry, Constantine Maroulis

Thursday night’s new episode of “American Idol” is now a matter of a few short hours away from airing on Fox, and there are once again going to be some dynamic duets at the center of the show! Many notable alumni are returning for these performances, which should be cool opportunities for the singers … even if they’re not all fun and games given that they will be used to help determine who the judges want to sent through to the next round.

Just like yesterday, we’ve got a pair of videos for you to check out now that should help you figure out how some of these contestants are approaching these performances.

1. Dalton Rapattoni and Chris Daughtry – This has to be a cool opportunity for Dalton, given that Daughtry is one of the real bona-fide rock stars to come out of the show. We know that he has an edge to his voice, and with that we think that the biggest thing he can learn is how to utilize a little more control. In trying to work alongside Chris, he may be able to gleam a few things from what he does.

2. Shelbie Z. and Constantine Maroulis – The big thing that could come from this for Shelbie is that it could help her to stand out more. We think that she is better suited in the southern rock genre for the sake of the show than doing pure country … though to be fair, she’s going to be asked to stretch rather far from these roots in singing Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” here.
