‘The Fosters’ season 3, episode 14 review: Jesus learns about Gabriel; Lena, Stef’s struggle
There were certainly many emotional moments throughout Monday night’s new episode of “The Fosters,” and in many ways it did not quite matter just who you were taking about.
For Lena and Stef, it meant facing some hard truths and insecurities about her surgery that maybe her self-esteem would be greatly impacted on the other side. There were certainly many stressful moments throughout, but we feel like by the end of the episode we had a sweet moment of understanding between the two, and it was something that we were especially rather happy to see after all of the tough stuff that they have gone through.
For Jesus, this meant learning some rather difficult news regarding his father Gabriel (nope, that’s not a “Walking Dead” reference) being a sex offender. We learned more about Ana and Gabriel, and the way in which all of this happened led to Jesus learning that his father is not even allowed to be legally around him.
Meanwhile, for Callie she had to deal with plenty of drama related to Jack, and we have to say that it’s not often when we feel like her story is one of the least-exciting in an episode. It was just that there were some complications when it comes to Fost & Found and some of the investments that have been made in her, and we feel like this is a story that is not anywhere near complete, while some others are just about at their zenith. The same goes for what we have with Brandon and Courtney right now. Episode Grade: B+.
