‘Shark Tank’ video: Bee Free Honee and a major business dilemma

Shark Tank -In the first of several “Shark Tank” preview articles we’re taking on for Friday night’s episode, we’re discussing a honey substitute. Made of apples, Bee Free Honee is the sort of substance that seems, especially on paper, like it would be absolutely perfect for the tank. It’s a product that could sell out super-fast after the show, and it’s also a product that, if tasty, could be a hit for some time to come.

More than anything else, it also is a product that carries with it a sense of ethics and responsibility. The founders of the business claim that their alternative will help to preserve the honeybee population, which is being ravaged at the moment in an effort to mass-produce cheap honey that comes with hauling bees around on trucks all across the country. This alleviates that problem, and they claim that they are cheaper than most organic local honeys that you are going to see in stores.

Mark Cuban’s argument in the Tank to the other Sharks is that with the right branding behind it, Bee Free is the sort of honey company that could make some sweet income in a very short amount of time. Unfortunately, we don’t get a complete sense just yet that the other Sharks are willing to buy into that completely, especially Kevin O’Leary.

Will that change when we get a chance to see the full segment? It’s possible, and for right now we’re certainly feeling pretty darn confident that if the valuation is right, Bee Free will bee feeling very good in a short amount of time.
