‘Arrow’ season 4, episode 13 video: Exec on Felicity’s father, Nyssa’s proposal

This is turning out to be quite the week for the DC Universe on The CW. We just witnessed one of the most awesome episodes in the history of “The Flash,” and early buzz surrounding Wednesday night’s new episode of “Arrow” suggests that it will be very bit as big and then some.

Specifically, the video below features executive producer Wendy Mericle talking about two storylines that are going to be hugely significant both for the immediate and the long-term futures of some of these characters.

1. The League of Assassins – Malcolm Merlyn makes a very interesting point here: Suddenly Nyssa al Ghul has a magical cure for what Thea is going through, that she’s never mentioned before, and she wants to give it to Oliver in return for Malcolm’s life. Is something fishy going on here? We know that Oliver is going to search for a more diplomatic solution to this problem, but we don’t really get the sense that there is any sort of diplomacy that can be thrown into the mix here with some of these people.

2. Felicity’s father – As we now know, her dad is none other than feared villain the Calculator, which is going to be very problematic. As Mericle notes, she feels like she wants to get to know her father better and have some sort of relationship with him, but at the same time this is someone she can never trust, and someone responsible for terrible things. How in the world can she ever reconcile all of that?
