‘Girl Meets World’ season 3 holds its first table read!

While “Girl Meets World” season 2 may not be over just yet, the show is really starting to prepare for what is going to be an epic and super-important third season. The evidence of that comes courtesy of the official Twitter account below, which reveals that the cast and crew just met up for the first table read of the new season.

If you haven’t heard just yet, the first episode is going to be entitled “Girl Meets High School,” and it will be at least a two-part story. We’re not too surprised by that, given that with the big leap forward comes many exciting changes and challenges.

One of them is rather simple: What’s going to happen with Cory Matthews? Ben Savage has been front and center at both the classroom and at home over the course of the entire series so far, but that could change unless he decides to make the jump over from middle school to high school. He’s been a great teacher for Riley and Maya, and we’re sure they will miss them if he stays put in his current job.

As for some of the show’s key relationships, it will certainly be interesting to find out how Riley, Maya, Lucas, and everyone else handles a transition to a new environment. High school is a place where things can be so much more intimidating, and the subjects much more adult. We know that this is a Disney Channel series, but we hope in the process that the network has the courage to continue to age the series and tackle these topics.
