‘Outlander’ season 2: Sophie Skelton reacts to big Brianna reveal

Thursday had to be a rather exciting day for Sophie Skelton. The “So Awkward” actress was officially announced to be playing Brianna on “Outlander” season 2, and the entire fandom had their first opportunity to react positively to the casting.

As you can see below, Skelton is certainly excited to bring this character to life, and to work alongside the likes of Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, and the also recently-cast Richard Rankin (Roger). Given the filming timeline we’ll at least see some of her in the second season, but we figure that this casting is more than anything preparation for what is coming up in the more distant future. Bree plays a very important role in the Diana Gabaldon series, and there’s a reason so many were waiting to see this casting happen.

As we said with the announcement yesterday, we’re glad that the show went with someone for this role who was a virtual unknown to many people. They certainly did their due diligence with auditions, and they’ve proven time and time again that their other castings have been foolproof so far.

Now just comes the waiting. The second season will air at some point this April, and hopefully that means that at least soon Starz will consider giving out some more footage of what you can expect to see. We know that this will be an epic season full of twists, turns, and complications in France; the real feeling of anxiety just comes out of waiting for it to start. The official premiere date should be announced in the relatively near future.
