‘Supernatural’ season 11 spoilers: Could Jensen Ackles’ Dean go back in time?

Take a look -

Who said that “Legends of Tomorrow” should be the only CW show with a heavily time-travel component? “Supernatural” season 11 is going to give us a chance on the February 17 episode “The Vessel” to show what they can do in this particular world, and it’s going to be a big one for Jensen Ackles’ Dean. Why? He’s going back in time in order to try to figure out how to stop Amara once and for all. For all of you looking to get back to the main story, this is proof that it will have quite a major role to play still moving forward this winter.

The synopsis below gives you at least a small inclination as to what you can expect to see unfold:

“Hoping to find a weapon powerful enough to defeat Amara (guest star Emily Swallow), Dean (Jensen Ackles) convinces “Castiel,” (Misha Collins) who is still Lucifer, to send him back in time to the last reported sighting of the Hand of God. Lucifer sees the potential in getting his hands on this weapon so goes along as Castiel and sends Dean to 1944 to the fated submarine mission that sunk the Hand of God. Meanwhile, continuing his charade with Sam (Jared Padalecki) while they wait for Dean’s return, Lucifer plans his next move.”

Ultimately, we expect this episode to be both an interesting and twisted one, which you can see some surprises around every corner. What this synopsis also does a great job of indicating is that Castiel is going to continue to be a vessel for Lucifer for at least a couple more episodes.
