Ratings Bubble Report: Is a ‘Galavant’ season 3 renewal stuff of fairy tales?
We love “Galavant.” As a matter of fact, we’ve made no secret of how much we love “Galavant.” It’s a hilarious, wacky, and interesting musical journey through medieval times. It’s also somehow still topical and has a great cast of people who seem to love their jobs.
Unfortunately, this may be where the good news ends. We do love to report on happy things during this Ratings Bubble Report articles, but at the moment the situation for the show at ABC may be similar to Isabella when she opened up that weapons cache and found children’s playthings inside.
The good news – People really like the show! It’s well-received critically, it’s refreshingly original, and do you think you’re going to find something else to air during the “Once Upon a Time” hiatus that is going to draw nearly as much attention from social media? The show does have a large following behind it when it comes to DVR viewings and internet streams, so the initial ratings may not be as bad as they initially seem.
The bad news – Unfortunately, bad is still bad. The show hasn’t been close to a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic since the premiere, and to some out there it was a surprise renewal last year with much better ratings on average. DVR ratings only help so much, since people gotta watch live so that advertisers can send over that money. You have to justify the cost.
Renewal odds – Low. Sometimes we go more in-depth in these articles, but there’s really not much depth to discuss here. The ratings for the show are not great, and as a result of that, we’re likely to see it canceled by the time May rolls around. Maybe it has a small chance of survival elsewhere (how about Hulu?); to us, it’s a dire shame that it is not on Netflix, since they have done a great job of acquiring other great movie spoofs, and they also have the similarly-absurd-but-also-more-adult “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp.”
If you want to work to save the show, encourage your friends to watch live, and be sure to do so yourself! Convince the giants and the dwarves to come together in front of the TV to check it out. We adore the show and Tad Cooper the little dragon that could … so you never want to let go of hope completely.

It was a breathe of fresh air, funny and still kind of touching. I am burnt out on doctors, lawyers, CSIs and costume dramas. SitComs are clique. Galavant is just plain fun for funs sake! Hope the powers thst be reconsider and take it a chance.

I might just cry if this isn’t renewed. This show makes my all time top 5, I just love it.

The time slot pits it up against some of the biggest rivals in January – between the Golden Globes and playoff football…it’s no wonder people prefer to DVR it. The show itself has made fun of this problem. ABC is sabotaging it in its current time slot.

The show actually has 2 episodes left, and I think that they both air tonight. Is it possible that the ratings could get it over a 1.0 for 10 episodes? If the show isn’t worth your time to watch it live. you either have a very interesting life or you’re just too lazy to watch it when it’s on. The world is still judged mostly by live ratings. By the way, practically all the polls say that the shows should be renewed.

Some people (such as myself) might work when the show airs live. Sooo not so much that I have an interesting life or that I am lazy, just busy.

That would certainly be a good reason why you couldn’t watch a show in real time. I used to work nights almost all the time when I was younger and I missed plenty of shows that I wanted to see. I would have to tape them and watch them later. Obviously, the fact that I wasn’t able to watch them in real time may or may not have hurt the show. I’m not a Nielsen viewer. I don’t have one of their boxes on my TV. Life isn’t fair.

A lot of people, especially younger people, don’t even bother with conventional TV and have completely switched over to streaming services, in which case the episode often isn’t even available until the next day.

That may be, but as I said; Until TV changes their rating system or makes adjustments to possibly take these things into consideration, things are what they are. TV never took into consideration that people might not be ale to watch things in real time when I was younger and I had to work at night. As I said, Life isn’t fair.

Life might not be fair, but that doesn’t mean we have no right to complain when networks base their programming schedules on a system that doesn’t really reflect actual viewership anymore. Sure, taping has been around for a long time, but fewer and fewer people watch anything live, unless it’s a sporting event. Just saying “life isn’t fair” and just accepting the status quo seems pretty lazy to me.

I didn’t say you couldn’t complain. You can complain all you want. I have complained about the stupidity that people have written on these websites, about the preposterous things that some of them have written, including renewing shows that have horrendously poor ratings. I got creamed last week for going back at someone(and not harshly) who said that Limitless was the best freshman show of all the new shows this year, despite the fact that there are plenty of new shows that have better ratings and larger audiences. All I wrote was that this was this person’s opinion, and he should write that, and people went nuts on me. Feel free to complain all you want. As far as the status quo changing, good luck with that. There are people who feel that the ratings system isn’t fair.

look at that poll and screw the tv ratings way to say if show is good also ps it would be awesome if they did at different time and do a little more episodes or if they really don’t want to be on tv anymore have netflix save it

I am so sick of shows like this being judged by live views. I don’t watch live TV. That’s why I pay for Hulu and Netflix, etc. I know others my age doing the same, so how can our viewing habits not be impacting shows? Its time streaming mattered.
