‘The Originals’ season 3 spoilers: Joseph Morgan’s Klaus and a mysterious adversary

Originals -Anytime that a TV show tells us that a character is facing off against a mysterious enemy, only to not tell us who the enemy is, we are going to be very much intrigued almost immediately. More often than not, this means that a show is trying to keep something a secret from us.

This is what “The Originals” is doing at the moment for their upcoming February 12 installment entitled “Dead Angels.” For whatever reason, they are telling us that Klaus is going to be battling a fearsome opponent, but at the same time keeping a tight lid on just who this fearsome opponent truly is. The synopsis below offers up a little bit more information, including what we could see from Elijah as start to see him square off more and more with members of The Strix:

“When a powerful weapon that could take down the Mikaelsons for good ends up in the wrong hands, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) finds himself in a tense standoff with an unlikely foe. Meanwhile, Elijah’s (Daniel Gillies) attempt to reclaim control of The Strix leads to a violent showdown and the emergence of a potential new leader. Elsewhere, when a new coven of witches tries to influence Davina (Danielle Campbell) into helping them locate the elusive weapon, she quickly realizes she may be in over her head.”

Who could this “foe” be? We’re not entirely sure, but we are still hoping that Cami comes back in some shape or form. Kudos to The CW, though, for being super-coy and aware that people like us often comb through these synopses thinking as though there could be some sort of clue in them.
