‘Billions’ premiere video: Go behind the scenes of new Damian Lewis – Paul Giamatti drama
On Sunday night, Showtime is set to premiere a new show called “Billions” that may be among one of the most ambitious productions that they’ve ever put out. You’re focusing on a subject in Wall Street that is probably not the easiest sell to many average viewers, but when you’ve got such depth to the subject matter it’s something worth exploring. If you can get viewers hooked on the premise, then you’ve won half the battle. From there, the challenge is mostly coming up with innovative stories in order to convince them to keep watching.
In the video HERE, you can see stars Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti talk alongside the executive producers for the show about what it was like to dive into this world, and also the sort of willingness that they were met with when speaking to people who helped to get a better understanding of the source material. Not everyone understands some of the shadier, darker deals that some people may have in this world, but insiders have seen pretty much everything … the good and the bad.
Everything seems to be in place at the moment for “Billions” to be a big hit for the network. It has a great cast (did we mention Maggie Siff?), has Too Big to Fail author Andrew Ross Sorkin aboard, and also is coming from a network that already is on a hot streak in between “The Affair,” “Masters of Sex,” “Penny Dreadful,” and other recent shows. Now, all we have to do is wait and see if the end result lives up to the expectations.
We’ll be back over the weekend with a full review on the “Billions” premiere, so be on the lookout for that! (Photo: Showtime.)
