‘Scream Queens’ season 2: Jamie Lee Curtis believes win would boost show’s renewal odds
As of right now, Fox has not made their decision clear as to whether or not “Scream Queens” will be coming back for a second season. With that being said, it is pretty clear that there is a desire among fans to see it back, and that definitely extends over to some of the cast.
While on the E! red carpet for the 2016 Golden Globes, one of the show’s stars in Jamie Lee Curtis went so far as to say that a win for her could be a collective win for the entire cast, since it could help “guarantee” a second season of the show. We’re not sure if the situation is really that cut-and-dry, but we do understand her sentiment greatly: Awards recognition does go a long way to helping to secure the fate of a show, especially in the comedy realm where there are so many alternatives and options.
One of the other shows that is in a similar situation to “Scream Queens” when it comes to this is “Crazy Ex Girlfriend” and Rachel Bloom, as that show also probably needs some more love from critics to help to keep it on the air.
As for when we will know for sure about the future of “Scream Queens,” we imagine over the next couple of months. While typically networks have until May to make their decision, we wonder if Fox will rush on this one given that this show started production for season 1 much earlier than the majority of other fall shows.
