‘Scorpion’ season 2, episode 13 video: First look at chilly ‘White Out’

“Scorpion” fans, you’ve been forced to wait long enough for the return of the show to CBS. The next new installment is “White Out” on Monday, and the first promo for the hour below hints at more than sub-zero temperatures as the team heads down to Antarctica. There’s also going to be a quest for survival that goes along with that.

Promotional materials that have already come out for this episode strongly hint that there will be a huge story in this hour for Happy and Toby. Fresh off of giving their romance a second chance in the midseason finale, Toby is put in a position where he has to try to find her in the most barren of landscapes. She could be completely engulfed in the snow, and this is hardly the sort of place where everyone has an understanding of the local geography.

While we cannot gauge the overall quality of this episode just yet (it’s still far too early for that!), it is pretty easy still to love the ambition and effort that the producers are putting into this. We love the fact that they are working this hard to make their sets appear as though the team is really in Antarctica without actually going there; with so many other action-based procedurals, we see so many familiar locations recycled just for the sake of saving a buck and don’t put the work into making them look and feel like a different place.
