‘Doctor Who’ season 10: Work already beginning; Steven Moffat on writers
While we do still have a Christmas Special to get through for “Doctor Who” this year, the reality here is that we’re inherently starting to look ahead beyond that. There’s always a curiosity for the unknown, and in many ways this is the sort of thing that this series is banking on in particular.
So how much progress has the series made already in preparation of the upcoming tenth season? Speaking to reporters (per CNET), showrunner Steven Moffat made it clear that there is no rest for the wicked, even as we start to get closer and closer to the holiday break:
“We’re already moving … We’ve had meetings today with two writers who’ve never written ‘Doctor Who’ before … [They are] brilliant, prominent and amazing writers.”
It’s always great to have some new creative talent on board your series, but one of the great luxuries for “Doctor Who” in particular is that it is not even something that is necessarily needed. There was a great batch f episodes already this year, and the biggest reason why were the scripts. While we’re not sure that the majority of them were necessarily Who Classics, but at the same time there was no true dud of the season. Even in a fantastic season there are generally one or two you wish you never watched.
There’s no news just yet on when the new season will be filming, let alone when it will be premiering. We’ll give you some further news as soon as we have it, but we feel pretty confident that there will be at least a few stories to watch at some point in 2016 based on the present timeline.
