‘Teen Wolf’ season 5 video: Now (also) featuring ‘The Shannara Chronicles’

“Teen Wolf” season 5 is set to return to MTV on Tuesday, January 5 with all-new episodes, and while they are being somewhat coy when it comes to how much footage they are willing to give away, the video below does give you a good sense of what their marketing strategy is.

Specifically, we’re talking here mostly in terms of how the network is already promoting the heck out of “The Shannara Chronicles,” their new series that is extremely epic in scale. This is a show that is being hyped up extensively by the network, and they want it to work so much that they are moving around the “Teen Wolf” timeslot for it to happen. They knew that if the Tyler Posey drama were to stay on Mondays, it would have to end up competing against “The Voice” and “The Bachelor.” That is not an ideal situation for anyone from a scheduling point of view.

As for Tuesdays, let’s just say that there is far less going on, and the other good news is that the show is not conflicting with “Pretty Little Liars.” With that being said, it is airing at the same time as “Shadowhunters,” which is a pretty interesting choice given that we could see the two shows sharing a little bit of an audience.

Hopefully, this is far from the end of the show’s promotional efforts, and we’re going to have a chance to get some other news related to the show soon enough. Given the way in which MTV is promoting this already, we imagine that there is plenty more
