‘Better Call Saul’ season 2 spoilers: First look at Jimmy, Mike’s (awkward) partnership

Better Call Saul season 2The first season of “Better Call Saul” ended with Jimmy McGill and Mike Ehrmantraut getting closer together, but at the same time with the former making a clear revelation when it comes to his philosophy on life: He doesn’t want to just act according to how others want him to behave. He’s going to be his own person, play by his own rules, and stop trying to impress either Kim or his brother Chuck.

As for where this leads him in the show’s second season, we have no clear idea at present other than that clearly, it takes him eventually to meeting Walter White. The first photo of the season below (via Entertainment Weekly) at least features Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks together in an elevator, awaiting whatever sort of adventure comes next. Based on the awkward facial expressions, neither one of these guys are at the moment necessarily buddy-buddy.

The good news is that this photo indicates that after spending much of the season apart / getting to know one another, the two characters will at least have some more screen time together in the second season. That’s especially welcome when you consider that Jimmy is going to need someone new to communicate with following what he views as Chuck betraying him in massive fashion. We imagine that Chuck will still be a part of the show, but both the relationship and the dynamic will have changed.

New episodes of “Better Call Saul” premiere on AMC starting on Monday, February 15, just one day after we get the return of another show in “The Walking Dead.” You can read some more news all about the series here.
