‘The Originals’ season 3, episode 9 reaction: The curious case of Klaus and Cami

Meet Cami -

For those of you who wanted to see Klaus and Cami get together on “The Originals,” here is your good news: It happened on Thursday night’s winter finale! Of course, here is the bad news: It happened right before Aurora killed the character, seemingly setting up our main Mikaelson for further despair and anger.

Or, does it? Here’s the thing with every TV show at this point: We’ve come to anticipate that death is a ruse. Look at “The Walking Dead,” “NCIS,” or even the winter finale of “Arrow” last season. Maybe she had vampire blood, maybe someone casts a revival spell, or maybe she becomes some other supernatural being. It’s a shame to see her less human if she returns (being that she was one of the few non-supernatural characters in this world that was perpetually interesting), but like “The Vampire Diaries,” the natural tendency here seems to be becoming more and more supernatural as time goes on. (Sure, there was that time people flirted with the cure, but still.)

While we await answers on Cami, the answer remains how Klaus is going to handle this news, and it he chooses to be violent about it, whose life he will either impact or destroy. After all, we know that he’s more than capable of both. If he was starting to open himself to people again, this could be thing that shuts him off, even perhaps for good (or at least however long this show stays on the air).

Also in the winter finale, Rebekah returned hoping for a cure, only to eventually ask for Elijah to re-dagger her and keep a secret. Meanwhile, Vincent has figured out that he is basically about to be puppeted by none other than Tristan.
