‘Homeland’ season 5, episode 11 preview: Carrie fights to save Quinn (and retrieve answers)
Following Sunday night’s new episode of “Homeland,” here is the good news: Peter Quinn is still alive! Unfortunately, here is the bad news: He’s barely alive. He’s hospitalized, and he holds information that could stop a terrorist attack on Berlin.
The first-look promo below for next week’s new episode does a wonderful job orchestrating what is now Carrie’s dilemma: One life for many lives, but the one life is someone she cares about. If she wakes Quinn too early, there’s a chance that he will not be able to survive. Therefore, there’s a chance that she makes the effort to save him and still doesn’t get the information she so needs. If there was ever a most depressing thought for the character, this is it. Yet, if she doesn’t make the move there is a chance that many others die, and after what happened at the end of season 2 it makes sense for her to not feel any sort of guilt whatsoever.
Unfortunately for Carrie, something happens in this episode that puts Quinn’s condition in severe jeopardy. There are only two episodes left, and based on some isolated clips in here, we are going to be seeing Allison in particular on the offensive more so than we have so far. Carrie’s made an effort to turn the CIA against her; now, we just have to see what happens next.
Can this story be resolved over the next two episodes? We think that it can be, but it is going to take a heck of a lot of work for everyone involved to tie a nice little bow around some of these loose ends.
