‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 winter finale pushed back slightly for President Obama speech

Once -For those of you on Sunday night looking to find the season finale of “Once Upon a Time,” don’t panic when you turn on the TV and there is a speech on the air.

Tonight, it was announced that beginning at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, President Obama is set to deliver a speech following many of the recent shootings in California, Colorado, and other places that is expect to run for 15 minutes. This means that, in turn, many of the episodes that are on broadcast television will be delayed. The fairy-tale drama will be pushed back ever so slightly, and the same goes for the animated lineup on Fox.

As for “Sunday Night Football” over on NBC, there is no word just yet on how they will handle the speech. Our guess is that they will simply choose to replace part of their pre-game show with this speech, and air the football game at its scheduled time. It’s possible in theory that they could delay kickoff for 15 minutes, but we don’t really see a reason for it.

CBS is the network with the biggest scheduling quagmire, given that they have a two-hour episode of “60 Minutes” scheduled, and the speech will take place right in the middle of it. Our feeling there is that they’ll figure out some way to organize this, and they could even provide reaction to the speech. They are not airing new episodes of “The Good Wife” or “Madam Secretary” on the night, and as a result of that may have a little more in the way of flexibility than some other people that are out there.
