‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: The latest name returning for 100th episode
It has been fairly clear for some time now that ABC is hoping to turn the “Once Upon a Time” spring premiere into a major event, and there is a pretty particular reason why they’d want to: It’s the 100th episode! If there was ever a time to celebrate what the show has done with various cast members from the past, this is it.
It has been reported already that the likes of Barbara Hershey, Robbie Kay, and Giancarlo Esposito are going to be returning for this installment, and now Entertainment Weekly reports that Tony Perez is also going to be returning as Prince Henry on the episode. Henry’s history with Cora was well-documented on the show over the past several seasons, and we are continually interested in how the show plans on highlighting so many different people over what is just a single hour on the air.
As for how many of these characters are turning up when some of them are dead, the answer ties into the Underworld. We had our first real mention of this earlier this season, and n this past episode Hook summoned up a variety of Dark Ones to the surface in an effort to achieve his goal of the destruction of Rumpelstiltskin once and for all. The Dark Ones themselves have a separate motive, and that is trying to extinguish the light from this world. Whatever happens on the winter finale Sunday will set the stage for the rest of the season, including if our characters are actually traveling to the Underworld or if people from that realm are coming to Storybrooke.
We will have more on this big episode as we get closer to Sunday, but for now head over here if you want to see a new tease all about what to expect!
