‘The Good Wife’ season 7: Does Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s ‘Walking Dead’ gig mean end of Jason?
2015 has been an extremely good year so far for Jeffrey Dean Morgan. He played a pivotal role this summer on “Extant,” and from there he transitioned quickly over to a new gig on “The Good Wife” as Jason Crouse. Even still, though, his biggest moment is still to come, as he was recently cast to play the villain Negan at the end of “The Walking Dead” this season. In addition to appearing in the season 6 finale, he will also be a regular during season 7.
While it’s awesome that Morgan has the Negan part, does that mean that he is off the table for an eighth season of “The Good Wife”? Not necessarily. Just take a look at some of what Morgan had to say in a new interview with TV Guide:
“I am certainly open to [staying] … We’ll see if there’s a Season 8. Right now, there isn’t yet. I don’t know what the end of Jason is. I don’t know when that’s going to stop. Right now, I’m not even taking it into consideration that this run is over for him. … I don’t see Jason going anywhere in the foreseeable future, so I think the Good Wife fans can look forward to him hanging out for a bit longer and we’ll try to answer some questions along the way about where Jason and Alicia are going.”
One thing that you do have to remember here is that “The Walking Dead” will begin filming for season 7 months before “The Good Wife” could return for season 8, so there could be ways schedule-wise where it could work out well enough for him to do both. (Of course, “The Good Wife” still has not been renewed, so we have to wait for more news on that.)
