‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ season 8, episode 4 review: All aboard Kenya Moore’s shade boat

RHOAThings have been a little tense on this season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” between the ladies as well as in some of their relationships, but things are going to spiral out of control this week as Cynthia and Porsha are going to get into it while on a boat. Does Cynthia not already have enough going on with Peter that she needs this on top of it right now?

After Cynthia and Peter’s talk about working harder on their marriage, he headed back to Charlotte to work on the bar – not a great start. Kenya is throwing a “second bachelorette party” for Cynthia on a boat to try to help make her feel better about the troubles in her marriage. The drama starts right away when Kenya tells everyone in the world that Kim Fields is 50 (even though she’s actually younger then that) and a woman named Tammy starts pushing her son’s rap career onto Kandi trying to set up meetings with her after Kandi’s doctor has told her to slow down because of her pregnancy – also isn’t this boat party supposed to be relaxing and not work?

An unexpected guest named Shamea shows up with Porsha… someone that Kenya is not a fan of. Shamea threw some shade at Kenya at her hair care launch party by suggesting that the product was watery, and when Kenya called her out on it during the boat cruise Shamea didn’t seem too apologetic. Kenya asks the captain to have Shamea escorted off the boat and Cynthia decides to go at try to calm Kenya down, but when Porsha calls Cynthia the B-word, these two get into a fight even though it seemed that everyone on the boat had been calling everyone that name pretty much the whole boat ride. Porsha tries to explain that she didn’t mean any harm by what she said, but when alcohol is involved and emotions are high people don’t always thinks straight and things only proceeded to get worse. Without an apology from Porsha, Cynthia only gets angrier and eventually the argument is taken to a physical level.

How bad is it? They show of course left it as a cliffhanger, but we’ve seen Porsha get physical with Kenya at the reunion and in the preview for the next episode we are seeing someone holding Porsha face down on the deck. We have never understood why Porsha was allowed to keep her job on this show after getting physical at the reunion and if she is getting physical again (more on that next episode), then we really don’t understand why she’s still part of the cast. This is a TV show and would think that the cast members are expecting a certain level of safety while working. Episode grade: B
