‘Girl Meets World’ renewed for season 3 by Disney Channel
Maybe this is one of the most predictable headlines of the year so far, but we’re still very happy to report it as fact: “Girl Meets World” is going to be coming back for a third season.
Today, the news was reported by TheWrap that the series, which stars Rowan Blanchard, Sabrina Carpenter, and of course original stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, is officially set to come back for a third season. We assume that it will probably premiere at some point in the spring / summer of next year, depending on the filming schedule.
Season 2 has been a rather long year’s work of work for the cast, given that there have been already two dozen episodes that have aired and there are still more to come. The next one entitled “Girl Meets the New Year” will air on December 4, and will be the last installment presumably of 2015. The remaining installments will air at some point next year.
As for what the premise for the third season of the show would be, we imagine that it will be tied somewhat to seeing Riley Matthews and her friends navigating the start of high school after graduating in the season 2 finale. This is a big step forward for them, and they also need to figure out in the process what’s going to happen in their personal lives / relationships. While the love triangle between Riley, Lucas, and Maya is not there every single episode, it is still something that is a part of the show and accelerated during the “Girl Meets Texas” three-part event.
