‘Blindspot’ episode 11: Return date revealed for Jaimie Alexander series!
On Monday night, NBC is going to air the fall finale for their huge fall hit “Blindspot,” and there is finally no longer uncertainty as to when the show will be coming back on the air next year. Let’s just hope that you are patient…
Per TVLine, the Jaimie Alexander series will return come Monday, February 29, which means that the plan is to not air new episodes of the show unless “The Voice” is around to compliment it. Great news. We feel like this show, or any other fall program, really needs a full year of support before giving it a chance to stand on its own. By the end of season 1, we feel like the ratings and the viewership will be solid enough that it can be moved, and will not suffer too harshly.
So why didn’t this work for “The Blacklist”? Our argument there is that NBC didn’t really properly hold firm with it, airing a few January episodes of the James Spader show back in season 1 without “The Voice.” They then moved it to a competitive spot on Thursday night, and it just couldn’t hold on to many of its viewers in the process. We’re not sure they were faithful enough.
Would we love “Blindspot” to stay perched Monday nights at 10:00 p.m. Eastern next year? Sure, but it wouldn’t stun us if NBC tries to move it to Thursdays at 10, a spot that they have long suffered for a hit. They could then use their Monday spot to launch a new show.
