‘The Walking Dead’ season 6: Steven Yeun ‘message’ to air in ‘Into the Badlands,’ to appear on ‘Talking Dead’

The Walking Dead” is officially milking the Glenn mystery for everything that it is worth at the moment. You may have heard already that the show resolved whether or not the character was dead on Sunday night’s installment, and they are now getting set to hype it up across every other medium possible.

First, we turn to the latest incident of AMC throwing “Into the Badlands” into the faces of “Walking Dead” fans, proclaiming that a “video message” from star Steven Yeun will air during the first commercial break of that show. Also, he will be appearing on “Talking Dead,” which will air at 11:00 p.m. following “Into the Badlands.”

Here’s what makes us feel pretty crappy about this whole situation. We think that “Into the Badlands” is for the most part a very good show. The problem here is mostly that it is being victimized in a way by getting set up as a target of internet hate by “Walking Dead” fans. Of course, they want “Talking Dead” right after the episode; now, you’re effectively punishing them. Sure, the “Into the Badlands” ratings will be good, but is it worth it for the backlash?

We’re going to be talking more about the Glenn decision on “The Walking Dead” and much more later in our full episode review soon. Here’s a quick teaser: We’re not a fan of it. Ultimately, it feels like this was all done for the sake of hype, since it really did not go anywhere fast when it comes to the story.
