‘The Walking Dead’ season 6, episode 6 reaction: Norman Reedus on Glenn questions

Walking DeadSunday night’s new episode of “The Walking Dead” was a huge one for the Daryl character. We saw Norman Reedus go on quite an adventure as the character, and that included some terrible things happening to the motorcycle and the crossbow. Therefore, two things that we have long associated with this character are now in a little more limbo.

Speaking of limbo, we do have spend a minute or two now discussing Glenn, and whether or not that voice at the end was Steven Yeun offering fans a little bit of hope. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly in a postmortem for this episode, Reedus confirmed that it was not Glenn who was speaking; not only that, but he was as surprised as anyone to see what happened to the character:

“I had the same reaction. He’s such a beloved character and such a good friend of mine. You know, I saw what I saw in that episode. And I was in that episode. And I was still pissed off at the end of the episode. I was in shock, and I was there! So I felt it too. You see what you see and that’s the point. If it hurts, it hurts. And if it’s shocking, it’s shocking. You’re supposed to feel the pain. That’s the idea. I heard that people are taking pictures of themselves under dumpsters and putting them on the Internet and saying, “See, I can get out of this!”

“I turned that episode off when it was done and kind of walked around my room and was cursing at the floor. I was kind of in shock. Like I said, I was in the episode and I felt like that, so that’s just the level of stuff we’re doing right now. It’s shocking and it’s full of fear and full of disbelief and you don’t want to believe things that you see. So that means we’re doing a good job, I think.”

Ultimately, we do think that the show is going to give us something when it comes to Glenn at the end of the first half of this season. By that point, the question is going to be mostly whether or not the show kept us waiting a little too long for it. At the moment, we’re starting to feel a little more in that camp with each passing moment.
