‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5, episode 10 preview: The aftermath of Hook / Emma twist in ‘Broken Heart’

Thanks to the way in which Sunday night’s new episode of “Once Upon a Time” was structured, there was a rather enormous carrot left dangling when it comes to Captain Hook and Emma Swan. In two weeks, we’re going to ultimately see where that story is going to go.

There is no new episode of the show airing on ABC next week, but when the story returns with “Broken Heart,” you are going to see just how Captain Hook reacts to learning that he is a Dark One just in the same way that Emma is. Let’s just say that it is not going to end well. Suddenly, that thirst for vengeance is back, and he is going to use it to go after someone in Rumpelstiltskin who has tormented him for years. While Rumple may now be somewhat of a hero, let’s just say that this is not something that he is particularly used to. There’s a difference between saving someone in Belle once and doing it time and time again.

As for Captain Swan ‘shippers out there, there is one particular moment in here that should make you fearful: When Hook says that he wants to hurt her in the same exact way that she hurt him.

There are two episodes left now of the Dark Swan era, and the thing that we can say with some certainty here is that there will probably be more twists to come. We do hope that there is a huge payoff at the end here, since we’re still not sure if we love this new Hook twist as much as we want to.
