‘Dancing with the Stars 21’: Tamar Braxton withdraws after learning more about health problems
For the second time this season, a contestant on “Dancing with the Stars” has been forced to withdraw, and on this particular occasion, it is weeks before the big season finale.
In a post on her Instagram (see below), Tamar Braxton made it clear that while she had wanted to keep fighting in the competition after being hospitalized with what she believed was pneumonia, she has since learned that she has something much more severe in blood clots. Therefore, she is taking the time away both from this show and her touring commitments in order to recover. We feel for her and for her fans, but it certainly feels like the right decision. The last thing you want to do is end up making the problem worse by continuing to compete.
What Tamar’s exit does is put the show in a somewhat-interesting position as we near the final weeks. Given that Tamar withdrew the day after Alexa PenaVega’s elimination, we wish there was a way to bring her back. The problem is that votes for the other Stars have already been calculated, and they would have to completely make them null and void for it to happen. They may just have to have either a non-elimination on Monday’s show, or go into the finale with three pairs. This is something that they used to do in the earlier seasons, but have since opted against in favor of four Stars for a variety of reasons.
Obviously, our heart goes out to Tamar and her family, and we hope that she at least is able to come back for the finale just to cheer everyone on in the audience.
