‘The Walking Dead’ season 6 spoilers: Jeffrey Dean Morgan in as Negan
This has clearly been a pretty big past year for Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The actors is still only months removed from working on the second season of “Extant,” and has since joined “The Good Wife” in the important role of investigator Jason Crouse.
Now, Morgan is set to appear on “The Walking Dead” as none other than Negan, one of the most feared villains in the history of the Robert Kirkman franchise. He is someone fans of the comics have been looking forward to seeing for some time, and it was leaked a while ago that he would surface by the end of this season. Getting Morgan aboard in this role is a big get for AMC, though we still are going to have a hard time in our mind envisioning John Winchester from “Supernatural” as a ruthless, cold-blooded killer. That’s part of what is great about Morgan as an actor; he makes you want to believe in him.
Morgan will likely be a series regular for season 7 of the series after making his debut in the spring, and we have to think that this is bad news for “The Good Wife,” provided of course that this show is planning to come back for an eighth season. If it does, Crouse could go the way of Finn or Will Gardner in the realm of potential Alicia love interests who either leave the show, or are killed off in stunning fashion.
New episodes of “The Walking Dead” will continue airing on AMC Sunday nights for a few more weeks. Then, the waiting truly begins.
