‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 6 video: Toby throws a punch

When season 6 of “Pretty Little Liars” picks up with new episodes on ABC Family / Freeform in January, you better prepare for things to get violent … and we are not even referring solely to the threat of whoever is now sending the infamous text messages.

As the new promo below gives away, we’re about to be seeing a number of the show’s other characters start to get a little bit violent moving into the winter premiere, with Toby among them! Why is he throwing a punch! It’s a good question, but there is really not enough time at the moment to know the answer. Five years can change people, especially when they’ve been through as much as these ladies have.

There are a few quick action shots in this promo that we feel qualify as new material in some shape or form, but the reality here is still that this is mostly old footage. We feel like maybe the producers and the network will lift the veil more on some surprises as we get closer to the winter premiere, but we’re not there just yet. Just know that there is a good reason why the Liars will want to stay around in Rosewood, and that the new threat is going to bring some serious PTSD into their lives.

Also, there’ll be at least a little bit of humor here and there, and you’re going to get a chance to see more romance as the characters are more adult and looking more to their future.
