‘Chicago PD’ season 3, episode 7 review: Is Olinsky’s marriage over?
There is a lot happening on this season of “Chicago PD” and all of it is so good! Lindsay and Halstead are officially out in the open about their relationship, Burgess and Ruzek are still on their way to the altar (and he’s back on the team), Roman is losing Andrew but knows that he’s done everything he could to save him and Olinsky decided to trash the paternity test and be a dad to this girl. There is so much to love with this show.
Trudy gets a call about Olinsky’s daughter saying that Michelle’s release was conditional on one of her parents taking her in. Trudy gives him the paper work to talk over with Meredith, but instead he just signs the paper work as her guardian without talking to anyone. He talks to Meredith later on, and tells her the truth about everything including tossing the paternity test and wanting to bring Michelle into their family. Meredith tells him that she’s putting all of his stuff on the lawn and if it’s not gone by the morning she will burn it. We understand that Olinsky wants to do the right thing for Michelle, but is he really willing to throw away his wife and other child for Michelle? Olinsky picks up Michelle and asks Ruznek if they can crash there for a while and even though he’s kind of ambushed, he says no problem.
After last week’s back to back episodes that were filled with personal stories and movement on many of our favorite relationships, tonight the focus was on one main character – Olinsky. We love episodes about Olinsky, because he’s such a complex character that makes incredibly difficult choices all the time that we don’t always understand, but it’s incredibly entertaining to watch. Episode grade: B-
