‘Downton Abbey’ season 6, episode 7 preview: Michelle Dockery’s Mary and a Henry Talbot shock
Is there more trouble coming for Mary and Henry on “Downton Abbey” season 6? While we are not particularly certain just yet that we can answer this question in definitive fashion, some of the first details out there for this episode (the last before the finale) makes us wonder if some trauma from what happened to Matthew is going to come to light.
During Sunday’s episode we saw Michelle Dockery’s character receive an offer to come watch Henry at a racing event, and the synopsis below makes it clear that not all will go according to play:
“Henry Talbot invites the Crawleys to watch him motor racing at Brooklands, but events leave Mary reeling. Violet makes a plan which surprises the family and delights Denker, and also gets to the bottom of Amelia Cruikshank’s curious show of friendship towards Isobel. Mr Molesley and Daisy must rise to the challenge on examination day, while Mrs Patmore and Mrs Hughes teach Mr Carson a lesson. Andy’s secret is brought to light, and Thomas feels increasingly isolated.”
The Thomas story does have us incredibly worried, mostly because at the moment he is the one character we are the most worried about having a tragic end. While he was not particularly likable in the early going this season, he has turned that around over time and become the ultimate underdog.
As for Mr. Carson, we’re also glad that someone could be putting him in his place after his constant complaining over his new wife’s food. It is hardly the meatiest storyline out there (pun intended), but it could be fun.
