Bryan Fuller teaming up again with NBC after ‘Hannibal,’ but for what?

Even though NBC may (sadly) be out of the “Hannibal” business, the good news is that the network has already found another way to work with the amazing visionary that is Bryan Fuller.

So what is the latest endeavor? According to Entertainment Weekly, he is set to help develop and write a pilot script for “Amazing Stories,” a weekly anthology series based on the 1985 product from Steve Spielberg, who is not involved in this version. Every week will feature strange and supernatural stories. Given that Fuller has “American Gods” coming on Starz, we feel like this will likely be something that he can work on here and there, and then allow other people to take over for their own stories. It’s really a pretty nice gig for him when you look at it that way.

As for why NBC is getting into the weekly anthology game right now, our guess is that it may have something to do with them wanting their own version of “Black Mirror,” the anthology series that has been a huge hit over in the United Kingdom, and is set to now become a Netflix exclusive. We figure that networks want a piece of that, and there is something great about having a show that you don’t have to watch every week in order to understand what is really going on.

Hopefully, we’ll get some other news about this project in the near future. What we do know at this particular moment is that we’d watch almost anything Fuller puts his name on, even if it just five hours of people saying the words “memory palace” to each other on a loop.
