‘Reign’ season 3 spoilers: Temporary signs of hope for Francis

At this point, one of the challenges for “Reign” is merely timing. Everyone already knows at this point that the series is planning to kill off Francis, and really one of the larger questions now is just when the show plans on going through with it. We feel like every week that The CW chooses to release synopses for their shows is going to be another week that we can confirm that Toby Regbo is still a part of the show.

With that, we are now pleased to confirm that Francis is still going to be a part of the upcoming November 13 episode entitled “In the Clearing.” As a matter of fact, there may even be a few moments here and there where you start to think that there is a reason to be hopeful. We’re not going to say that just yet, however, given that we’ve come to know TV very well over the years, and there is a natural tendency for episodes to pull the rug out fron under you right when you start to think things are getting better.

Take a look at the synopsis for “In the Clearing” below; it may ultimately be the presence of a certain prophet that turns things from good to bad, depending of course on whatever he may have to say:

“Grateful for a future with a revived Francis (Toby Regbo), Mary (Adelaide Kane) considers signing away her claim to the English throne, and staying in France forever. Catherine (Megan Follows) learns that Nostradamus (guest star Rossif Sutherland) has returned — with a new vision involving Francis’ fate.”
