ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5, episode 6 preview: Can Kerry Washington, Tony Goldwyn’s characters find peace?
“Scandal” is typically a show that likes to go big and brash, and thanks to that, it was a relief to have such a powerful, muted moment on Thursday night when Olivia Pope laid it all out on the line. She was open and completely honest about her feelings towards Fitz, and with that there may have even been some common ground between her and the First Lady … but not much. The truth here is that Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn’s characters love each other still, but it is not entirely clear how they are going to be able to get out of their latest issue. If Fitz really did go to war with West Angola just for the sake of Olivia, that poses enormous long-term problems for his Presidency and his legacy.
“Get Out of Jail, Free” is the title for the next new episode of the show on ABC, and you can look below to get some further news in terms of what to expect in this story:
“Fitz and Olivia are presented with a shocking plan that might just make all of their troubles go away, and Mellie is put through the ringer when confronted about her troubled marriage. Meanwhile, the Gladiators continue to defend Olivia, and Susan Ross turns to David for advice.”
Basically, Olivia has to prepare for it being a lengthy mission in order to ensure that she can start to make some steps in the right direction when it comes to her image. As for Fitz, he has to make sure there is no damning evidence that could ruin everything.
