Donald Trump not worried about ‘Saturday Night Live’ backlash
Well, it shouldn’t be shock that there are already many different groups that have reached out to NBC hoping that they will pull Trump as host of the show. Specifically, the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda published a letter (per Politico) that made it very clear what they want the network to do:
“Donald Trump has yet to apologize for his bigoted comments about Mexican immigrants. Allowing Trump to host SNL will legitimize and validate his anti-Latino comments. NHLA had praised NBCUniversal, when it severed its ties with Donald Trump. We are appalled that you would enable Trump’s hateful speech for nothing less than a ratings ploy and ask that you rescind the SNL invitation.”
Trump seems not altogether concerned by most of this, saying on “Fox & Friends” that he trusts his relationship with the Hispanic community and feels like he winning in many polls with the groups.
We’re not so much here to talk about politics; we’re more about “SNL” and what the future holds there. Ultimately, we feel pretty much like Trump isn’t going anywhere. NBC had to know the moment that they hired him that this was going to happen.
