‘Shiptober: Will ‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 6 bring Aria, Ezra back together?
There’s no doubt that when “Pretty Little Liars” returns for the second half of season 6 on January 12, there will be many questions as to what is coming up for some of its characters. At the center of almost everything will be the relationship status for many of the will-they-or-won’t-they couples. Aria is going to be involved in the publishing industry, and as a result of that, she will be spending quite a bit of time around her former teacher, who just so happens to be a published author. While we’ve seen clips of Aria from season 6B, there is no definitive confirmation one way or another in regards to if the two are dating.
Should they be a couple? That is the subject of our latest edition of our CarterMatt ‘Shiptober series, where we talk about some of the most-popular pairings in TV.
The case for Aria / Ezra five years later – For one, there’s no longer that pesky problem known as high school holding the two back. They can be together out in the open without any hangups, and we like to think that there is potential for the openness of a relationship between them to be exciting. They can tackle more real-world problems, and start to build towards some sort of life and future. We know that they have been through a lot, but maybe the past several years have taught them that it is okay for them to rely on one another in times of need.
The case for no more “Ezria” – On the flip side, it has been five years, and there is a lot that has happened in that time. We’d feel wrong to make an assumption as to where these two people stand after so long, and maybe there is so much baggage here that they want to move forward and start fresh. This is what happens in the real world; sometimes, you don’t want to be with someone who when you look at them you’re reminded of the worst time in your life. It really doesn’t matter how much you care about them.
One other twist? It is certainly more than possible that one of them is already dating someone else. Since we are jumping so far ahead, history is the only thing that we have to rely on … and history does not always repeat itself in the world of TV.
