‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9, episode 3 video: Is Amy getting a makeover?

After the past two episodes of “The Big Bang Theory,” would anyone really blame Amy if she wanted to change things up a little bit? Let’s put it this way as a not-so-subtle reminder of what she has been through: Not only did she break up with Sheldon, but he retaliated with a particularly embarrassing episode of “Fun with Flags,” and he has given her virtually no peace and quiet at all.

Based on the sneak peek below, there is a discussion that takes place between Mayim Bialik’s character, Penny, and Bernadette about whether or not a makeover is what would help her start to feel better about herself again. As you would have expected, Penny and Bernadette are all for it. We’re just not sure that Amy, or the fanbase, will be when the dust settles. Part of what makes this show great is that they never judge too heavily anyone based on their nerdy attire or their personalities. If it starts to send a message that Amy has to start dressing differently to be happy, we’re not sure that will go over well. The only way this will work is if she completely commits to doing it, and not because other people pressure her.

On a different note, we’re getting Leonard’s delayed bachelor party! Also, we’re getting Sheldon being more or less thrown into a van! What’s not to like here? The guys are taking a road-trip to Mexico, which certainly sounds to us like it has “disaster” written all over it and then some.

All in all, it seems like another fun way to spend a Monday night! We’ll be back with a further look at the episode on Sunday.
