‘Faking It’ season 2, episode 16 preview: Karma and Amy are back in the deception business
Given that the title of “Faking It” has not been altogether relevant to the MTV series for a little while, we suppose that it does make a little bit of sense that the next new episode is going to be bringing this concept back to the show. By this, we specifically mean moving Karma and Amy back in to a place where they are pretending to be lesbians.
So why is it happening this time around? It ties into Karma’s mother, who never really gave up her position supporting LGBT rights despite the fact that her daughter was not actually in a relationship with Amy. Therefore, the two may need to go undercover as a couple again, seemingly with a larger set of rules as designated by the two of them, in order to put on a good ruse.
Is this a good idea? For comedy sure, but we don’t particularly think it is the nicest thing for Karma to ask of her friend, given that the last time they did this, Amy fell for her. Maybe she thinks that she is over it now, but those feelings can come back in a split-second the moment that the two do something that is even remotely romantic.
Of course, here’s another theory behind this that may please some of the #KarmyArmy out there: Maybe Karma wants those feelings to come back subconsciously. We know what we saw that at the end of season 2A, and for the most part, this has not been picked up as a major story thread just yet in the second half of the season. Hopefully, it will be in due time.
