‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 3 spoilers: Is there any info on Ichabod’s mother coming up?

Just in case you were really wondering whether or not the “Sleepy Hollow” team listens to the reaction of fans about any given storyline, we have for you now what is in our mind a pretty clear amount of proof that they do.

While we have seen some of Ichabod Crane’s family history on the show so far (heck, Katrina and Henry dominated much of season 2), this is apparently not something that will be explored for the most part at all in season 3. Maybe those of you who wanted to learn about his mother finally will be disappointed, but new showrunner Clifton Campbell really says it best in a new interview with TVLine:

“We just felt, because of last season and some of the responses from the fans, that we should probably give Crane’s family a rest.”

It is probably smart when you think about it, since we’re not sure what sort of good, if any, would come out of bringing Crane’s mom onto the show at this point when so many people are ready to move on. We are for the most part happy with the moves that have been made by Fox and the studio to preserve the show and get it back to its season 1 self, with the only exception maybe being losing Orlando Jones, who we think brings a great presence to the show and was a huge champion for it on social media.

The premiere is coming on Fox Thursday, October 1, and we hope that there are plenty of people out there willing to give it another shot even if they bailed on the second season at some point.
