‘Big Brother 17’ live feed spoilers: Steve’s breakdown

steveWe try to stay away from knee-jerk reactions in these “Big Brother” articles, but at this point it does feel almost as though Vanessa has this game almost on lock at this point. She has a chance to eliminate whoever she wants at the final four, and can put herself in a position at the final two where she is taken to the end almost every circumstance.

As you would expect, Steve is not happy … but he is also blaming himself for some of his mistakes. Specifically, he had a teary meltdown last night, realizing that he should have tried harder in the Veto, and that Vanessa convinced him to more or less let her have it. Now, he’s almost confident that she will evict Johnny Mac, and this puts him in the final three with Vanessa and Liz. Liz is probably one of the only people left who value loyalty, and she has every incentive to take Vanessa given that Steve’s responsible for her sister Julia going home. It felt like Steve last night tried to endear himself somewhat to Liz, but we doubt it works.

Ultimately, this is one of those situations where Steve is probably who many of us thought he was. He’s a nice kid and a pretty good player, but he lacks some of that edge, that killer instinct that Vanessa has in spades. She is the one who has most of the blood on her hands, but we have a hard time thinking anyone will have anything other than respect for her at the final two. There may be some bitterness, but what if there is no other option?

We’ll let you know later if there is anything else that is significant that develops before the next eviction, but we’re not sure Vanessa is really going to make it clear.
