‘Masters of Sex’ season 3, episode 10 preview: Masters wants to ‘experiment’ once more

We are not quite sure if Bill Masters means to come off as creepy as he does in the new sneak peek from Sunday night’s new episode of “Masters of Sex,” but to us there is almost no doubting that he does not come across particularly great when it comes to suggesting ideas for “research” with Virginia Johnson.

The premise of what Michael Sheen’s character sets up to Lizzy Caplan’s in the sneak peek below is simple enough, we suppose: He wants to fix some of the issues that are going on right now when it comes to the surrogacy protocol, and his suggestion as to how to do so is to undergo some of the testing themselves. This is something that the two of them have really always done since the very beginning of their study, so he certainly has no problem going down this road again, saying that the patients are ultimately more important than the book or almost anything else.

Ultimately, he is able to get Virginia to agree, but there is just something about the way that he does this that comes across as really rather odd, and like he has some ulterior motives that he is really not doing an amazing job of hiding.

It’s still to be seen just what is going to happen as a result of this plea, but one way or another, history does tell us where things are going to lead in broad strokes with Masters and Johnson. We just hope that it remains difficult for Masters to get what he wants romantically from her, if for no other reason than that he’s not exactly stellar at making her feel as great as she should.
