‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ spoilers: Lady Gaga on the Countess’ power

When “American Horror Story: Hotel” premieres on FX October 7, there are a pretty wide array of characters who you are going to gravitate towards. Lady Gaga’s role of the Countess is not just one of them, but to many she is the most exciting one of all. It is a global pop star taking on a role in one of the creepiest franchises on TV, and the more that we hear about this character, the more interesting she is.

There are a few things that we know about this character right now: She has multiple lovers, she is the owner of the Hotel Cortez that serves as the show’s main setting, and she is also suffering from some sort of blood virus that has her craving the stuff constant. She’s not a vampire, though, and it will be interesting to see what the differences are here between Ryan Murphy’s creation and a creature you would see over on “The Vampire Diaries.”

There are many things that Gaga herself likes about the character, with one of the most interesting ones being her resilience. For some more on this, just take a look at what she had to say recently to Entertainment Weekly:

“The Countess is a very old soul … She’s extremely strong. She’s been through so much. It’s kind of impossible for anything to penetrate her. This show in many ways is about her survival and there is an amazing journey that touches on the mythology of viruses and in what way these afflictions change our lives and bring us together and tear us apart.”

Ultimately, the only thing we can say about her character right now beyond what we’ve already said is that she is bound to create some carnage, and that should be fun for all viewers to witness.
