‘Empire’ season 2 spoilers: Vivica A. Fox to play Cookie’s sister!

Sometimes we sit around and bemoan “Empire” for its wide array of guest stars, but we have to say here that for the most part, this one is pretty darn perfect.

As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, Vivica A. Fox, known for many things but most recently for being a “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant, is going to guest-star on at least one upcoming episode of the hit Fox series as Cookie’s older sister, someone who arrives at Empire Entertainment looking for her. However, we still do not know what the specific reasons are why just yet, and that is something that could open up an entirely new can of worms for these characters.

While we suppose it is best to withhold at least some judgment on Fox’s character until we get around to her episode actually airing (it should at least be several episodes into the season, being that the casting was just announced), we do at least think that she is the right sort of person for the job. She can play extremely strong-willed, charismatic people, and if she is anything like Cookie, we have to assume that this is going to be fun.

“Empire” premieres on Fox come Wednesday, September 23, and we know that this season is going to start off with Cookie in a tricky place, trying to figure out what the future for Empire is going to be while Lucious remains behind bars. Who wants to figure that he is still going to try at least to be some sort of puppetmaster? It appears likely.
