‘Criminal Minds’ season 11 spoilers: Rossi’s daughter and a longer story
We’re going to start this particular “Criminal Minds” story with something that surprises us … but also something that we’re pretty happy to hear at the end of the day: The show is getting set to move in a slightly more serialized direction going into the upcoming 11th season.
Showrunner Erica Messer confirms in a new piece over at TVLine that they are ready to try something a little bit different this year with the arrival of the “Dirty Dozen,” a league of hitmen who will constitute the main villains for at least some of the season. They won’t really come to a head until the very end, but we imagine that we will run into some problems with them along the way. Will it be every episode? Probably not, but we’re okay with that. Even just a few more appearances of the same recurring villain is something that is a little bit different for this show.
As for some other important news when it comes to the show, we are also going to see Amber Stevens return as Rossi’s daughter, Joy, and Messer claims that they would “love to have her on a couple times a year.” We are all for any opportunity that allows us a chance to get to have some backstory on someone who we really feel is one of the show’s more interesting characters.
The new season is going to premiere on Wednesday, September 30, with one of the big storylines being the arrival of Aisha Tyler as Dr. Tara Lewis.
