‘The Last Ship’ season 3: Premiere date hopes and more for Eric Dane series
Tonight, the end is here for “The Last Ship” on TNT … or it is at least for a little while. The show is concluding its current arc of episodes, but the good news is that the network really wanted you to feel secure for the rest of the year, knowing full well that Eric Dane and the rest of the cast (or at least those who make it through the finale) will be coming back.
Of course, it is far too early to speculate on an exact return date for the show, but you can go ahead and assume that it will be in the summer. There’s really no other time for TNT to launch the series, and this is the perfect placement for it. There is less in the way of competition, and therefore more chances for it to shine individually. We just wish that it got a little more attention from the mainstream, since for the most part it tends to be somewhat under-the-radar, almost hiding like a submarine. (Chandler and company certainly know plenty about those this season.)
It’s hard to post specific expectations in this article given that we are writing it before the finale, but we hope that there is a new set of challenges introduced, and also a new Big Bad to go along with it. The story with Ramsey and the Immunes has been pretty solid, but it feels like it’s starting to run its course. You want to keep things fresh, and it still feels like in this decimated world, there are still plenty of reasons for people to be doing battle with one another.
In broad strokes, let’s just hope for more action, character development, and opportunities to learn new things about our characters.
